Loofco Washing Up Pad

These award-winning Loofco Washing Up Pad our handmade from the gourd of luffa Aegyptiaca plant with an Egyptian cotton string hanging loop. An ingenious and traditional use for a loofah and the perfect biodegradable alternative to plastic sponges and scourers. When dampened its natural plant fibres become soft enough nonstick pans, supple enough to fit into mugs. Approximately 13 x 8 cm in size. May appear an abrasive when dry but when immersed in water the washing up pad swells to become a circular spongy flexible pad. Use in warm water with washing up liquid. To keep the loofah fresh between uses, rinse, squeeze out excess water, shake out any food particles and hang to dry from the cotton string loop. Occasionally wash in the washing machine or by hand. Lasts for months and when worn out can be composted.
